How do I stay in the present moment when it feels unbearable ?

By Thich Nhat Hanh

Sharing my notes listening to

the simple answer to this question ......

Breathe in and bring your mind home to your body ....

The painful emotion is in you , if you do not come back to

the body then there is no-one there

In order to take care of the painful feeling or painful emotion

Transform the present moment ....

The past and future moment are like images - they are not real

The past and future moment are not reality

Only the present moment is reality

The present moment is the only reality

Most cover the pain inside or run to the future

Cover the pain by practice of consumption being food, alcohol etc

so not to confront the suffering

Mindfulness helps us be in that very moment

To understand the suffering

and then to transform the suffering

Allow us to look deeply into the nature of our suffering

Using mindfulness breathe work and walking meditation

This helps us become strong enough to recognise and counter

the pain and embrace it tenderly

Group practitioners can profit from each other

Their energy of mindfulness and compassion

Get in touch with the suffering

Brings about the understanding of suffering

and energy of compassion and understanding heals you

and the people around you

Then in the situation to help others do the same

Go to the places of suffering in order to change self

improve self to serve and help others

When not afraid of suffering; suffering then becomes

aspiration, useful, meaningful and help others who suffer
